McAg PALM Workers Shine at Bundaberg Multi-Cultural Day

Bundaberg, QLD — McCrystal Agricultural Services (McAg) PALM residents played a pivotal role in the recent Bundaberg Multi-Cultural Day, a vibrant event that celebrated the rich diversity of the region. Organised by Praveen Mathew, the Multi-Cultural Coordinator for the Bundaberg and District Neighbourhood Centre, the event saw a significant turnout, with people from various cultural backgrounds coming together in a spirit of unity and celebration.

Winter 2024— McCrystal Ag Services recently completed a highly successful macadamia pruning project at Nutbush Farms under the leadership of Matthew Williams, Business Manager of McCrystal Agricultural Services, and Michael McMahon, Director of Nutbush Farms.

McAg, an approved employer in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme, is making a significant impact by supporting seasonal workers from the Pacific and Timor-Leste. These workers, often facing challenging circumstances in their home countries, are given opportunities through the PALM Scheme to earn remittance, which they use to uplift their families and communities.

McCrystal Agricultural Services (McAg) is excited to announce the successful completion of the Injury Prevention and Management Program (IPAM), a collaborative initiative by Workplace Health and Safety QLD, Worksafe QLD, and WorkCover QLD.

In a recent survey conducted by McAg, workers expressed overwhelming enthusiasm for participating in skills development training. When presented with various questions, workers unanimously “strongly agreed” that such opportunities are beneficial to their success in their work, assist them in achieving their skills development or personal goals, and may lead to multi-season or long-term work opportunities.

In a heartening display of support for skills development in migrant workers, Chris and Gail Davey, proprietors of 3D Farms and valued McAg Host Employers, have recently assisted McAg seasonal worker Junior Paul Bobong in acquiring his LF forklift license during his placement at their farm.
